AishoNanzuka is pleased to present the solo exhibition of Kazuma Koike, Eclipse, in Hong Kong.
Kazuma Koike was born in Kanagawa in 1980 and spent his boyhood in Buenos Aires from 1986 to 1992, also in Barcelona from 1995 to 1998. After came back to Japan, he graduated from Sculpture course at Nihon university colleague of art. In 2013, he left Kanagawa where was a base of his career, now he is working in Osaka.
Koike has presented an exceptional sensibility by working in a wide variety of media, such as painting, water-color painting, sculpture and video works. Even though he was born in Japan, he may make his own unique sensibility from the experience of living abroad, South America and Europe, when he was at a sensitive age. Koike has shown his image by detaching things we saw in our daily lives from context (Background), presenting their relationship in a skillful, arranged way, providing a unique tension in his works.
In this exhibition, Koike limited his works on idols, plants, geometric patterns instead of daily motifs he usually use. With the cooperation of those motifs with each other, Koike presents his works with a new born theme, Silence. He kept the same norm and concept yet expressing them in a brand new style differs from before. “I saw the same Buddha at a temple and a museum. You can only see the front side of the Buddha at the temple but you can see the Buddha in a clearer, nearer way at the museum. The religious meaning of the Buddha saw at the museum was diminished. I felt the possibility of expressing this.” He said.
Time passes by, damages and worn, meaning and memory no longer exists in relic and scenery. “Silence” showing the past, at the same time, indicating the future. Koike style of “Silence” is what information or images jump out from daily live, the relation in between things and people changed into something more pure while implying the future.
The artist will come to Hong Kong for this exhibition. We will have an opening reception with the artist on 9th January. We sincerely welcome you to join us.
AISHONANZUKA 將會在香港舉行小池一馬的個人展覽《Eclipse》。
小池一馬 1980 年於日本神奈川縣出生，1986 年至 1992 年成長於阿根廷布宜諾斯艾利斯，1995 年至 1998 年生活於西班牙的巴 塞隆那。回到日本後，他畢業於日本大學藝術學部雕塑系。2013 年離開神奈川縣，現於大阪創作。
小池一馬透過繪畫、水彩、雕塑及錄像各種媒材表達他對日常事物獨特的敏銳度。他生於日本，而南美及歐洲的國外留居生活卻 帶給他另類的體驗。小池把日常生活的事物從場景抽離，再利用純熟的鋪排方式表達兩者關係，使作品畫面充滿張力。
是次展覽中小池特定以雕像，植物，幾何圖案取代他慣用的日常題材，這些物件的互相配搭表現了作品的新主題:「沈默」。他保 留了同樣概念，但運用了與過往不同的方式處理畫面，他說:「我看見寺廟和博物館裡佛像是一樣的，在寺廟裡你只可以看到佛 像的正面，但在博物館你卻可以近距離清晰地觀看佛像，而博物館觀看佛像的方式已經把原有宗教意義削減了，我想表達這種可 能性。」
意義和記憶都會隨時間流逝而損毀磨蝕，不復存於景物中。「沈默」在反映過去，同時亦預示將來。小池的「沈默」風格把圖像 和資訊與日常生活分隔，使物件和人物關係變得更純粹，不受時間約束。
このたび AISHONANZUKA では小池一馬個展” Eclipse” を開催いたします。
小池一馬は 1980 年生神奈川に生まれ、86 年から 92 年までの間はアルゼンチンのブエノスアイレス、95 年から 98 年はスペ インのバルセロナで過ごし、帰国後は日本大学藝術学部の彫刻コースを卒業し、2015 年現在はそれまで活動の中心としてい ました神奈川を離れ大阪にて制作活動を続けています。
小池は、ペインティング、水彩、立体、映像など、様々な素材を利用しながら、特異な作品を発表しています。作品の多くに みられる独特な表現は日本に生まれながらも、多感な時期の多くを南米やヨーロッパで過ごしたことにあります。表現される イメージは、日常で目にするものを文脈(背景)から切り離し、それぞれを巧みに配置することで得る奇妙な相互関係を表し ており、独特な緊張感を持ち合わせています。
本展覧会では、これまで多用してきた日常のモチーフを偶像や植物、幾何学模様に限定し、それぞれの相互作用から、生まれ る「静けさ」をテーマにした作品を発表します。これまでのコンセプトを規範としつつも、いままでとは違った新しい表現に 小池は「過去に同じ仏像を寺と博物館、両方の場所で見たことがある。寺では正面からしか見ることが出来なかった仏像も博 物館では明るく近寄ってみることができたが、博物館で見る仏像には宗教的な意味が薄らいでいた。そこに表現の可能性を感 じる」といいます。
時を経て破損や摩耗し、意味や記憶が無化された遺物や情景にみる「静けさ」には過去と同時に、未来を示しているとも言え ます。小池の言う「静けさ」の表現とは情報やイメージに操作された日常から抜け出し、モノとヒトの関係をより純粋なもの へと変化させることと同時に未来への暗示でもあるのです。
