Time Burns

AISHONANZUKA is please to announce a solo exhibition of Japanese artist Saya Kubota’s "Time Burns", which will be Saya Kubota's first exhibition in Hong Kong.
Kubota uncovers past memories and physical traces and creates new stories by combining and superimposing those memories. Especially at the Setouchi International Art Festival (Setouchi Triennale) 2013 reuse the building which was used as a post office for a long time and use it as a "The missing post office" One of her renown art project “the missing post office” is to make the concept clearer and stronger in an art project keeping memories and memories of people who did not sublimation.
In this exhibition "Time Burns", in addition to the planar work expressed by burning the tracing paper with Japanese incense, we will exhibit these new works as well as sculptures repainted Jomon pottery with luster glaze. Based on the experiences at the art restoration school, which she got at artist in residence in London in 2015, Kubota tries to attempt to redefine the value and existence of the thing lost.We look forward to seeing you in the gallery.
